This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour — both inside and outside the classroom. Role Overview Working closely with individual pupils and small groups, you will support the academic, emotional, and behavioural development of students with SEMH needs. You’ll be a key part of a collaborative team dedicated to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH challenges Assist in delivering tailored learning activities that meet both emotional and academic needs Implement and follow positive behaviour plans and support strategies Help pupils manage emotions and develop self-regulation and coping skills Support pupils during class, break, and lunchtimes to encourage social engagement Liaise with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support pupil progress Promote inclusion, safeguarding, and a positive school culture Ideal Candidate Profile We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and committed to making a meaningful impact in children's lives. You will need: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour A calm, compassionate, and patient approach to behaviour and emotional support Confidence in using positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques Excellent communication and teamwork skills A strong understanding of safeguarding practices Flexibility, adaptability, and a solution-focused mindset Why Join Us?
